China’s expansive growth over recent years has been the product of continued re-investment into all levels of industry and most importantly infrastructure. This aggressive investment program continues to keep China at the forefront of large scale manufacturing but also has developed a broad range of engineering capabilities which have supported our growth at GMS.

Our association with China goes back many years with members of our team having vast experience in both living, working and trading with China. As a result of this long term working relationship with the Far East marketplace we have developed our own network of offices which support our numerous activities in this world leading arena.

We have offices in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Dalian. Each have established a broad range of engineering and commercial skills. Our colleagues operating these facilities have gained considerable experience identifying and developing our existing supply base, together with introducing new suppliers.

Being on the ground in China and working with our Chinese colleagues and partners has enabled us to work with some of the world’s leading manufacturers in their given sectors, supporting them in a wide range of opportunities from product rationalisation, modern material utilisation and significant cost reductions. The GMS footprint in China has enabled our customers to increase efficiencies, reduce stock levels and improve operating margins.
